Vermiculite is the ideal sowing substrate for your seeds! Vermiculite easily absorbs water and therefore retains nutrients well. The fine structure makes it easy to grow and transplant your seedlings without damaging the roots.
Before use, make the vermiculite moist and not soaking wet. The easiest way is to immerse a sieve with vermiculite in a bowl of water and then let it drain well.
Create a layer of a few centimeters of moist vermiculite in the seed tray and press the seeds into the vermiculite and place the lid on the seed tray or cover it with plastic.
You can also make your own potting soil mix, mix 1 part vermiculite with 3 parts potting soil. This way, your sowing soil remains lighter and airier, and the vermiculite also ensures that nutrients and water remain accessible to your plants for longer.
